Which EUDR software do I need?
The EUDR software you need depends on your role in the chain: importer or operator placing the product on the EU market, or exporter and supplier outside the EU selling to European buyers. Each role has different obligations and therefore needs different tools.

An importer or operator needs EUDR software to do four things: connect their suppliers at origin, assess the deforestation and legality risk of each lot, generate the due diligence statement and submit it to the EU Information System. Everything else is secondary. Legal responsibility lies with the operator placing the product on the EU market, not with their supplier (Regulation (EU) 2023/1115, Article 4).

Is there EUDR software designed for suppliers, such as companies in Latin America?
Yes. Coolx is EUDR software with its own platform for the exporter selling to Europe, not a form the exporter fills in for their European customer. The exporter geolocates their farms, runs the satellite deforestation analysis and generates the report their buyer needs, in Spanish or any other language, with support from origin.

What if you are only asked for the data? What you have to deliver to your European buyer
Three things: the geolocation of each production plot (a polygon if it exceeds 4 hectares), proof that there has been no deforestation on those plots since 31 December 2020, and the documents proving the production is legal in your country (Regulation (EU) 2023/1115, Article 9). Your buyer cannot file their statement without them.
When your buyer works with Coolx, you enter their platform with your own access, upload your plots and documents once and Coolx verifies them. If you would rather get ahead before you are asked, the exporter solution gives you your own platform and your own report.
How does specialised EUDR software differ from a generalist compliance platform?
Specialised EUDR software is built only for Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 and handles the real cases of the chain better: farms without a polygon, suppliers without stable internet, lots mixing origins. A generalist platform covers many regulations at once and treats the EUDR as one more module. Neither is better: it depends on whether the EUDR is your main problem or one of twenty.

Put plainly: if you need more than the EUDR, Coolx is not your software. If the EUDR is what you have to solve, there is none more specialised.
How much does EUDR software cost and what should you ask before signing?
The price of EUDR software depends on the size of your operation: how many suppliers or farms you manage, how many countries of origin and how complex the chain is. That is why no flat rate is a good sign. Before signing, ask any vendor these four questions, Coolx included.
Is there a lock-in period?
A multi-year contract ties you to a tool before you know whether it works with your suppliers. Coolx works on an annual licence with no lock-in.
How is the price calculated?
The price should reflect your operation, not a flat rate. At Coolx the quote is adapted to your reality: number of suppliers, complexity of your supply chains and countries of origin.
What does the support include?
Ask whether you will talk to a person who knows the EUDR or to a support chat. Coolx includes support from an EUDR expert throughout the year, with regular meetings and review of your documentation.
Does it submit the statement to TRACES from the platform?
If you have to copy data by hand into the EU system, the software has only done half the job. Coolx creates, submits, checks and amends statements in TRACES without leaving the platform.
